Why this role matters now
The contribution this role unlocks
Reliable applications, task delivery and marketplace operations depend on clear APIs, safe data changes and observable background workflows. This role helps strengthen those foundations.
Your place in the team
You will work with the Product & Engineering lead. Database and service changes require review, tests and a documented rollback path before production use.

The sequence depends on priorities and your learning progress; scope and ownership are agreed together.

Your role at GamingCenter
Backend Engineering builds the services that keep marketplace and recruitment workflows reliable. You would work on scoped APIs, data changes, background processing and observability with tests and review gates around every critical path.
An unpaid one-month traineeship is considered only where a recognised educational institution or competent public authority formally arranges it and the Estonia work-country, enrolment and legal checks are documented and approved before the start. A declaration in the application is not approval. Otherwise the candidate performs no unpaid work and may remain in recruitment or, with consent, in the talent pool until a paid opening is available.
An approved placement has written learning objectives, mentorship, approximately 20 hours per week, weekly feedback and a transparent 10-point scorecard. A final score of at least 8/10 permits consideration for a separate paid working-student or legally appropriate contract. Progression is not automatic and depends on legal eligibility, continuing enrolment, payroll readiness, budget and available headcount.
This is a paid part-time position with defined responsibilities, written objectives and regular feedback. Before the start, we confirm enrolment, the physical work country, work eligibility, compensation and the responsible contracting party in a signed agreement. Recruitment tasks are time-boxed and non-production; no unpaid productive work is part of the selection process.

Employer and contract clarity
