Why this role matters now

The contribution this role unlocks

GamingCenter's marketplace and careers journeys need to feel clear, credible and easy to complete before public traffic grows. This role turns observed friction into accessible, testable interface decisions.

Your place in the team

You will work with the Product & Creative lead and coordinate with Engineering and the operational owner of each journey. Research, data access and production changes follow approved review paths.

Your role at GamingCenter

GamingCenter connects gaming talent, creators, communities and organisations through marketplace and careers experiences. Those journeys need to feel clear, credible and easy to complete on both mobile and desktop.

In this supervised internship, you will help define user problems, map flows and prepare reviewable interface concepts. You will work from existing product behaviour, approved research questions and a shared design system rather than redesigning the product without context.

The role does not independently publish production changes, conduct unrestricted user research, reuse third-party designs or collect personal data outside approved tools. Success means clearer decisions, accessible interaction patterns and prototypes that can be tested before engineering work begins.

How you will contribute

  • Review one scoped careers or marketplace journey and clarify the user problem
  • Map current and proposed flows, including empty, loading, error and success states
  • Prepare low- and mid-fidelity wireframes before visual refinement
  • Apply the existing GamingCenter design system and accessibility requirements
  • Create a clickable prototype and document interaction decisions
  • Support approved usability checks and summarise evidence without exposing personal data
  • Prepare clear hand-off notes, acceptance criteria and responsive behaviour for engineering
  • Maintain versioned source files and respond constructively to review feedback

What will help you succeed

  • Current enrolment or recent study in interaction design, product design, UX, visual communication or a related field
  • Physical residence and legal eligibility to perform the internship from Estonia
  • A portfolio showing your thinking, process and at least one interface or service journey
  • Foundational understanding of responsive design, hierarchy and accessibility
  • Working knowledge of Figma or a comparable interface-design tool
  • Clear written English and reliable remote collaboration
  • Ability to explain trade-offs and distinguish evidence from personal preference

Helpful experience

  • Experience with design systems or component libraries
  • Basic usability-testing or research synthesis experience
  • Interest in gaming marketplaces, creator products or recruitment technology

What you will learn and gain

  • A documented learning plan covering product discovery, interaction design and hand-off
  • Weekly critique and feedback on process, accessibility and communication
  • Experience designing within real technical and operational constraints
  • Portfolio-ready work where confidentiality permits
  • An internship completion certificate after successful completion

What happens next

  • Submit your application
  • Initial review
  • Online interview
  • Role-specific conversation, where applicable
  • Final decision

Time commitment in the selection process

  • Initial conversation: usually about 30 minutes
  • Role interview: usually about 45 minutes
  • Recruitment task: approximately 75 minutes

Assessments are clearly scoped and never ask for productive work for GamingCenter.

Success in the first 30 days

  • Complete onboarding and design-system orientation
  • Map one approved user journey and its risk points
  • Prepare one reviewed responsive prototype
  • Document decisions, evidence and engineering hand-off notes

Internship terms

Contract and duration: 3-month study-related voluntary internship or 6-month mandatory school/university internship; the final route must be lawful and documented for work performed in Estonia

Compensation: Unpaid only where a documented mandatory-internship or other applicable legal exemption permits it; otherwise at least the legally applicable minimum compensation is paid

Academic documentation: Before signature, we document that the work is physically performed from Estonia, work eligibility, enrolment or study basis, any mandatory-placement requirement, the lawful compensation route and the responsible contracting party. Candidate consent alone does not make unpaid work lawful.

Equipment and expenses: The role is remote from Estonia. A suitable computer, reliable internet and a private setting are required. No software purchase, travel or personal research account is required without prior written agreement. Product and candidate data access is least-privilege.

Compensation and legal eligibility are documented before signature and are not selection criteria.

Employer and contract clarity

GamingCenter.gg is an early-stage project in formation. Before any activity begins, a written agreement identifies the legally responsible contracting party, compensation, hours, duration and physical work country. No activity begins without a fully signed agreement.
